Overview:
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support our growing manufacturing business. This position will be based out of our office in Tulsa, OK office. This role combines financial reporting, month-end close leadership, and multi-state sales tax compliance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who enjoys improving processes, partnering with operations, and helping develop less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring all journal entries are posted accurately.
- Prepare and review complex balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
- Compile and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for accuracy before presenting them to management.
- Compare budget vs. actual figures to identify and explain discrepancies or trends to management.
- Prepare, review, and file timely monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local sales and use tax returns for all active US tax jurisdictions.
- Review and maintain customer exemption and resale certificates. Perform routine audits of exempt transactions to ensure adequate documentation is retained in the event of an audit.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth financial operations and information flow.
- Streamline accounting processes, optimize ERP or accounting systems, and eliminate bottlenecks to increase efficiency.
- Assist the Controller with any additional departmental tasks as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 4 years of accounting experience, including hand-on financial statement preparation responsibilities.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Experience with month end close.
- Multi-state sales tax experience.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Supervisor Responsibility:
While this position has no direct reports, the Senior Accountant is expected to serve as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The Senior Accountant position is primarily based in an office environment, with tasks typically performed at a desk or workstation. The role requires extended periods of sitting, frequent use of office equipment, and repetitive motions such as typing and using a mouse. Occasional lifting of office supplies or files (up to 25 pounds) may also be required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Travel:
Travel is not required for this position.
