Overview:
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Quality Inspector for the Flushing department. The Oil Flush Inspector is responsible for overseeing and verifying the cleaning and flushing of lubrication, hydraulic, and control oil systems in industrial machinery (such as turbines, compressors, and engines). This role ensures that all piping and Cores of Air-Cooled Coolers meet the stringent cleanliness specifications required for safe equipment startup and long-term reliability. This person will also provide back up to Assembly Inspections and Run in testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Monitoring: Supervise the high-velocity oil flushing process to ensure it adheres to project specifications and ISO/NAS cleanliness standards.
- Verification: Perform visual inspections of screens and filter bags for debris; verify that “Flushing directions” configurations are correct to bypass sensitive components.
- Testing: Utilize particle counters to determine if the oil has reached the target ISO/NAS6 cleanliness code.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed flush logs, including flow rates, temperatures, durations, and final cleanliness pictures and completing flushing reports.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with API (American Petroleum Institute) standards and manufacturer-specific requirements.
- Safety: Monitor for leaks or pressure issues during the flush and ensure all environmental protocols are followed for oil handling and disposal.
Hayden Industrial has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019.
Education and Experience:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial commissioning, mechanical inspection, or lubrication management is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of API 614 and ISO/NAS cleanliness levels. Familiarity with Drawings, Excel, Ipads and various apps, and Quality Work Instruction.
- Skills: High attention to detail, proficiency in technical reporting, and the ability to work in demanding industrial environments (refineries, power plants, etc.).
Supervisor Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, (paint masks, respirator, when required) and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
