Overview:
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Pressure Test & Drying Inspector (Heat Exchange Coils). The Pressure Test & Drying Inspector is responsible for performing immersion leak testing and drying of heat exchanger coils. This role ensures coils are leak-free and properly dried before moving to the next stage of production or shipment.

Education and Experience:

Leak Testing (Immersion Method)

  • Perform leak testing by purging coils with nitrogen while fully submerged in a water tank
  • Inspect coils for air bubbles indicating leaks in tubes, joints, or connections
  • Accurately identify, mark, and report leak locations for repair
  • Monitor and control purge pressure to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Maintain proper submersion positioning to ensure complete test coverage
  • Record inspection results and disposition (pass/fail)

Drying Operations

  • Place coils on designated drying racks following leak testing
  • Ensure coils are positioned for optimal drainage and airflow
  • Allow coils to dry per required time standards and procedures
  • Inspect coils after drying to ensure no residual moisture remains
  • Prevent contamination or reintroduction of moisture during handling and staging

Quality Responsibilities

  • Follow all inspection and testing procedures to ensure product integrity
  • Maintain accurate documentation of testing and drying results
  • Identify non-conforming products and route them for repair/rework
    • Support continuous improvement efforts related to leak testing and drying efficiency

Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures when working with pressurized air/gas systems
    • Use required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, etc.) when working around water tanks and equipment
    • Maintain awareness of slip hazards around wet areas
    • Report on unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately

Hayden Industrial has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience in manufacturing, HVAC, or coil production preferred
    • Previous experience with HYDRO/Pneumatic testing preferred
    • Ability to visually detect small leaks (bubble detection)
    • Basic understanding of pressure and air/gas systems
    • Strong attention to detail

Supervisor Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, (paint masks, respirator, when required) and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is required for this position.
