Overview:
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking an experienced Logistics Director to join our team. The Logistics Director will be responsible for creating and enforcing company-wide freight policy, managing transportation cost structure, negotiating carrier agreements, standardizing shipping methods, and building scalable logistics systems across North America, Europe, and Asia.

The Logistics Director will oversee ocean, air, truck, parcel, and express logistics across global sourcing

hubs and manufacturing operations, with primary inbound destinations of Tulsa (“TUL”) and Bydgoszcz

(“BYD”).

The position may be based in the United States or Poland. Preferred locations are Tulsa or Bydgoszcz, though exceptional remote candidates will be considered.

Global Freight Strategy & Policy

  • Establish and manage Hayden’s global freight strategy and transportation standards.
  • Develop approved carrier, freight forwarder, and routing guides for all business units.
  • Standardize shipment methods, Incoterms, documentation requirements, and approval workflows.
  • Create centralized logistics policies governing:        
    • Ocean freight
    • Air freight
    • Domestic trucking
    • Express Parcel
    • Oversized and break bulk cargo
    • International courier shipments
  • Build freight KPI reporting and transportation cost visibility across all operations.

Carrier & Vendor Management

  • Select, negotiate, and manage freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers globally.
  • Lead annual and ongoing rate negotiations for:
    • Ocean container
    • Ocean break bulk
    • Air freight
    • Domestic LTL / FTL trucking
    • Expedited shipments
    • DHL / UPS / FedEx / courier programs
  • Reduce logistics fragmentation by consolidating vendors where appropriate.
  • Monitor vendor performance, transit times, claims, responsiveness, and compliance.


International Logistics Operations

  • Manage inbound internation freight primarily from:
    • China
    • Vietnam
    • Republic of Korea
    • India
  • Coordinate freight flows into:
    • Tulsa, Oklahoma (“TUL”)
    • Bydgoszcz, Poland (“BYD”)
  • Support future global sourcing hubs and manufacturing expansion.
  • Work closely with sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams to optimize logistics execution.


Domestic Transportation

  • Oversee extensive domestic trucking operations within the United States.
  • Develop routing and consolidation standards to reduce freight cost and improve reliability.
  • Manage relationships with trucking brokers and carriers.
  • Improve planning around expedited and emergency freight activity.


Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Build scalable logistics processes suitable for a rapidly growing industrial manufacturing company.
  • Improve shipment tracking, freight auditing, invoice validation, and cost recovery processes.
  • Establish approval structures for premium freight and emergency shipments.
  • Develop freight dashboards and operational reporting metrics.

Education and Experience:

• 10+ years of logistics, transportation, supply chain, or freight management experience.

• Experience managing global industrial freight operations.

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Ocean freight
    • International forwarding
    • Customs coordination
    • Domestic trucking
    • Parcel and courier networks
    • Oversized industrial shipments

• Experience negotiating transportation contracts and carrier agreements.

• Experience implementing logistics processes and operational controls in high-growth environments.

• Manufacturing, industrial equipment, construction, energy, or heavy industrial experience strongly

preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• International sourcing or manufacturing support experience.

• Experience supporting operations in both North America and Europe.

• Experience handling complex engineered equipment or oversized cargo.

• Familiarity with freight flows involving China, Vietnam, India, and Korea.

• ERP, freight management, or transportation analytics experience.

Supervisor Responsibility:
This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
This job is based in a manufacturing environment with a combination of office and plant floor responsibilities. This role uses standard office equipment. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include/hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While the position primarily involves office work, it may involve occasional lifting of materials or documents up to 25-30 pounds. The role requires good vision for reviewing contracts and procurement documents, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in meetings. Physical stamina is needed for extended periods of sitting and walking.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel is required for this position.
